hello...who has got two thumbs and is a happy camper..this guy.
after a seemingly shitty couple of weeks things are looking up for the good guys.
tonight the great indoor soccer team super mario strikers (consisting of myself, kent "spunk bunny" weaver, Matt "Don't Mess" Messenger, Mel "Up" Hill, Kati "my first and last name might as well be one name" Smith, Stephen "MVP" Schumaker, and Kelsey "110%" umm...whatever her last name is?) played our final game in the semi-finals. I am very happy with our overall performance being that it is a league run by, for the most part, kent club soccer dude douche bags, or as joe moose found...dirt rags. we upset the top ranked team in the league and played awesome for having a short handed team...this was by far one of the most fun intramural seasons i have ever had in any sport! in other news i officially got hired by red bull today to be part of the mobile energy team which I am way excited about...an actual real job! well sort of. I am on my way to nyc tommorrow to spend the weekend with my lovely girlfriend katie and best bud steve "stink nuts" vilt...as well as edlova. this'll be my first trip to the big city..and my singy is singin. not to mention i ate a take 5 about 20 minute ago, and left part of the candy bar on the side of my desk and just noticed it. mmmm good. i also got my application all done and will be officially done with this place i've grown to love and hate at the same time known as kent state university...and all in all with nice little bachelors degree in organization communication studies, tied up in a bow with a nice little english minor (one love berardinelli. one love). i am ready for some intense march madness (possibly one of my favorite sporting events of the year) as well as that little thing called baseball that is coming up. oh boy i can feel the boners coming on. the browns signed hometown folks joe jurevicious, lecharles bentley, and raven punter dude as well as ted washington and william mcginest...the cavs aren't doing so hot right now, but they'll have to really choke some dong to not make the playoffs. i watched an interview the other night with the lawrence arms bassist/vocalist brendan kelly and it made me real happy to see that there are still people in the music industry who understand the way things SHOULD work. i also saw the new video for their first single "the devils takin names" and it is pretty finger lickin good. V for Vendetta is coming out this weekend which is going to be something special i feel, and have you seen the previews for x3...dingalingaringdeedo! all and all, things are swell and i want to shout it out to the world...unfortunatley with very thin blood and some weak lungs i'd probably pass out in 6.7 seconds...therefore i posted it on livejournal for probably the reading pleasure of 15-25 people most of who probably stopped reading because this has gone on for a long time. i hope everyone is doing well and finding exciting places to live next year. thus far it sounds like everyone is getting mixed up quite well. i also hope your semesters are going blah blah blah blah blah blah

and so it ends...
being that livejournal is a dying breed in my world and i post next to never....this will probably be my last post before 2006. and like last year, and because i do lame things like this...i'd like to give some thoughts on this crazy piece of work that patrick swayze called the year of melon filled vaginas...or as much of us knew it...2005.
oh 2005...if i could sum you up in one word...it would be candle...not for any metaphorical reason, but mainly because finding one word to sum up 365 days is hard as f and i can see a candle right now. in these 52 weeks i have been in 3 seperate "relationships" all in which i learned 3 important things...1.)People aren't always who you may make them out to be 2.) I can be a selfish ass, and hurt people that I really do care about and 3.) That I truly and honestly know what it means to be happy....i'm sure if you do the math, you can figure out how these apply. I have moved into a new home with new people..seperate from what I had been used to for the first three years of college. i truly miss living with brandon, john and (especially my time spent with) mr. michael "can i a buy a vowel" fowler...but living at that crazy place known as seven and a switchblade has been an amazing experience and i love my roommates in a completely sexual and unnatural way. it seems that i have learned that not really knowing what your doing when you graduate and school itself isn't something to shit yourself over...and that it is rather apropriate and expected...like guys pizza after a night of drinking with hanz...i have also learned that hanz and kent are the two best drinking buddies the city of kent has to offer...i guess they are ok friends too. As long as we are on the topic of friends...well, me, rather than we... i miss my friends from home so much and i hate to think that in a few years i'll probably see them less than i already do. They are three of the best friends anyone could ask for..yeah i said it...so what...i'll fight a bitch. Needless to say, I've made some great friends this year, and I have lost some good ones too, i have made some grave mistakes, but have made some of the most unbelieveable decisions ever..basically...i did this and then i did that. Even though this was looking to be a year of shit..it truly turned out to be amazing. Thank you...

so my computer is mucho broken, and i just dropped near $900 on a new one....sweet...this thing better last me long enough so my kids can use it...damn straight....anywho, tgiving was amazing, good family time, good friends time, good katie times, good hard wine times...gt all around. i'm excited for break, and am so happy school is over in t minues two weeks. i'm in the tucky right now to finish up a paper and get away from kent (the school, not weaver cause i love him) for a night. i talked to steve today for a short amount of time....miss that kid...but we love our cavs...annnnnywho thats about it for now...and since i havent checked this forever (because of my lacking in the computer department) i will respond to beckstars 7 song deal.

i'm updating because i'm giving myself a break from this awfully terrible paper i am currently writing. I am breaking until 3, so this seemed like a good thing to do since i haven't written anything in a while. i really cannot wait to get this paper done (which is clearly why i am writing this and not the paper). as soon as it's done, i have no responsibilities besides working, which is a joke in itself. i'm excited to see the fam on thursday, and also to have a sean and brooke party with brooke. i also get to see katie in less than 4 days, which will be amazing. wet hot american summer still makes me laugh incredibly hard (hence the journal title). i don't know....i got nothing really. i thought i had more to talk about, i guess my brain is just fried from this ballin paper.

hello. hope all is well in your world. this past halloween weekend was by far one of the most kickin weekends ever. both friday and saturday were such a blast, and everyones costumes were rockin! i'm sure i could go over details of the weekend, but odds are 95% of the people who read this were either a.)there or b.) heard about it. your friends over at seven and a switchblade had themselves a time on saturday. somehow a bunch of people were in and out of our house all night, and we didn't even plan on really having people over. oh well. it is cool. i honestly have never seen kent (and kent) so crazy before. it was wild. if you read brookes latest entry, it will be easy to convice yourself that a.) kent weaver is a wild child and b.) her boyfriend, justin penov, may be the funniest person in the world. and c.) she really likes the zephyr. that last one really isn't too important but i wanted a c in there. the highlights of my weekend had to have been (and yes, we're going to keep up with the scantron method (this is in no particular order)) a.) hanging out a lot with justin, that kid rocks, and we need to cut his hair fast. b.) meeting and becoming friends with all the boardman/youngstown girls + syd from massachusettes c.)really not know how to spell massachusettes d.) seeing zak dressed as dane e.)seeing joemoose dressed as thrillho f.) devin and vodka g.)kent and alcohol h.)nick from akron and his hans solo in a cast costume...priceless i.)meditz hanging out like whoa! j.) drinking beer out of a thermus k.)being introduced to 7 layer burritos l.) downtown kent m.) having 5 people sleep in my room n.)having every spot in our house occupied by a sleeper o.) gin and tonics p.) the thing being possibly the most popular costume q.) watching sophie be a toilet hugger r.) ben s.)best friend competition t.) steveo getting punched by a 50 year old (its funny now) u.) syd snoring and talking in her sleep v.)meditz and his love connection w.) seeing beck and rach's apartment demolished...andd x, y and z.) katie, katie, and katie.

so my cross country/track coach in high school gave everyone nick names. at the end of track one season, he started calling me "nix". the reason behind that is a total different story. anyway, the next cc season, he slowly stopped calling me that. one day, out of curiosity, i said "coach hunter, what ever happened to the nix?" and he said "they haven't been playing very well since Ewing left.

heyo....not much going on. school still sucks, i still want to graduate badly, and i still have an overwelmingly huge crush on the pringles guy. last night i went out for lauren lapoints 21st and it was so great to hang out with the stewart kids from freshmen year. happy bday to her. it was also nice to sit and talk with brandon and mike like the good old days.
this weekend.. me, mikef, steve, and two of mikes marine buddies are running the akron marathon relay. it is going to be way sweet, and i'm super excited. if your doing nothing saturday morning, you should come hang out and watch, it is a great time.
i dont know, nothing is really new with me. my room kind of smells. hung out with the jb the other night, which was cool considering we haven't hung out in ages.

hi everyone
i really haven't updated forever, there's just been too much going on
odds are you know what has been going on
college street is just filled with prostitutes, ice, crystal, cars, cash, hoes, and 20's.
or not really...its just been a blast thus far and it hasn't even been a month.
i'm so excited for barnseys return, even though it won't be for a while, glad to hear she's having a blast in italia.
school is lame
i love learning and stuff, and classes are so easy now
but the pressures of school will soon build on me and be an unneeded weight on my head.
i just want to graduate and work.
as devin mentioned tonight, its so shitty cause all i do is scrape by.
there are kids who go to school, live off campus, don't work, don't pay for a thing, and have all their extra money just to fuck around with. don't get me wrong, i'm not saying there's anything wrong with that...i actually envy you. living pay check to pay check is such a shitty way to live, and i'm glad i'm experiencing it now so i know that i'll never want to as soon as school is over. i just want to have a steady job, live in a decent city, and enjoy life for a few years.
the roommates and i had a fantastic talk tonight...these kids are really growing on me. i cannot wait for the future holds....brass monkies, camping and columbus trips...not to mention a possible spring break.
i wish i could say something is new with me, but nothing really is.
i'm just the same old g.
i have actually taken an interest in a lady, (and no brooke, its not the girl who broke my heart, i'm so over her)
its kind of weird...i haven't really liked anyone in a while, nor have really dated in the past few months.

I've beeen spending this past week in the good ole town of Brunswick, Ohio.
It's been rather nice.
I made the commute to akron for work today which sucked.
But other than that, hanging out with my mom, bro and sis and the new baby has been killer.
I'm not one for small babies, because i think they are ugly and boring, but my niece Rylin is cute as f.

Indians have been playing some great ball, so that puts me in a good mood.
Work sucked balls today...it amazes me how spoiled some people are.
Steve was just over, times with him is always good. His tales of him and his questionable girlfriend are priceless.
The infamous move in day is coming.
Pretty stoked.
Rise Against is in a few days....way fucking stoked.
Suprisingly, I'm almost as excited for Rise Against and Comeback Kid as I am for the Loved Ones. I hope I get out of work early enough to catch their whole set...I don't see why I wouldn't, but it'll be a good night as rumor has it that it is a good group going...including mr. weavers brother.
I'm sad that the girls had to say goodbye to their house and sid....damn city.
brooke is staying at my house right now while i'm not there....kind of creepy...i bet she fondles my sweaters.
like i said before, move in day is the 15th, if anyone feels so inclined to help, i heard Kent will give out free H and FJ's...think about it.

Hi Everyone....its time for some insight...
I am currently listening to a band called The Loved Ones who are opening for rise against, FATA, and Comeback Kid. I'm extremely excited to see them play. Brooke is currently living with me. It's pretty neat. She makes food.
Last Night I wore lipstick for the first time in my life. It was black, and Hanz did it with me. Not it, but wearing the lipstick.
Speaking of Last night...it was tons of fun. I love my friends so much, and good times as well. College street will be ballin for sure.
Steve came, which was awesome. I love that kid. He is the cream of the crop. Last night also made me realize how close of friend I've become with some people. Brooke, obviously...but like Kent, Hanz, Barnsey, Jake, Becky, Jim, JoeyM, Dane....and I'm sure I'm missing a few, but those guys surely make Kent life awesome.
As long as I'm on the topic of sentimental insight...I finally know and realize what it is and means to love someone and how much it sucks. I also learned that it is possible to get over it as shitty as it is...but I feel that saying how you feel is extremely important in any sort of situation. Closure too...closure is nice. Look at me, becoming an adult.
Besides that I have made some new friends this summer. Mike V., Justin, and hanging more with people like the girls over on Vine and their bfs (i.e. Jason and Chip).
I'm really excited to move in. Got to hang a bit with LaurenL last night who is a future roomie, and I can't wait to be living with these people. It'll be amazing.
I really don't know what the point of this post was. I guess I just wanted to share some of those things.
Rise Against/Comeback Kid/FATA/The Loved Ones in two weeks....who else has a boner?
Alkaline Trio opening for MCR? Shittty. But sweet that they are coming none the less. And Reggie and the Full Effect is opening too...way sweet.
I miss Greg Flecher.

Hello
To prove that I am a dork
I have seen Charlie and the Chocolate Factory twice thus far
I also plan on seeing it at an Imax theatre
eeeeek
I am going to slightly review it.
So if you haven't seen it.
You might not want to read it.
But who hasn't seen Willy Wonka and the Charlie Factory?
It's basically the same story.
Ok, first off, no one will ever replace Gene Wilder as the ultimate creepy Willy Wonka. Johnny Depp does a good job, but its a whole other Willy Wonka. As discussed on the car ride home yesterday with Hanz....Gene Wilder is more of just a creepy, old, lonely bitter man who hates children. Johnny Depps Willy Wonka is a yes, creepy, very lonely, psychotic, possibly gay, man who hates children, but has a soft spot for them as well. Both Willy Wonkas are really cool, but Gene Wilder is amazing. I just love how Willy Wonka constantly gets pissed off looks on his face after he was seemingly happy, almost like he is putting on an act. Also the fact that he doesn't caer that these kids are near death half of the time. This Charlie is way cooler than the last Charlie. He is a far more beliebeable poor child. Grandpa Joe is also a better fit in this one, because he is believably old. THe guy who plays him has to be in his upper 80s. Teh original was proably flirting with 70. The kids in the movie were 10xs better than the original. Violet Beauregarde (sp?) was awesome. She was such a bitch and her mom was so creepy it was...well creepy. Augustus Gloop, who looks strikingly like a cartoon in the movie, makes you want to throw up every time he eats, he is a total glutton, and he makes me nauseous. I love it. Veruca Salt was a hard character to match i think, but the girl who played her did a really good job without exactly duplicating the original. I wanted to smack her throughout the whole movie. Also where she gets attacked by squirells is a very messed up scene if you really think about it. The way they film it, they make it look like something out of a horror movie. Mr Salt was a very entertaining character as well. My favorite character in the movie was Mike Teavee. The scene where he is playing video games in the movie is awesome. He is so unimpressed with everything and anything and so angry. His constant fued with Willy Wonka throughout the whole movie is very entertaining. The visuals are amazing, and Burton never dissapoints. I like how you get background on Willy Wonka in the movie, ecspecially seeing him in his head gear as a boy, which was rather scary. I do feel taht they may have dwelled on his problems with his father a little too much. I did like that you found out what happened with Wonka and Charlie at the end of the story. I also thought the scene with the puppets singing the willy wonka song was amazing. I did not like that you got to see the kids at the end of the movie. I kind of liked that you got the idea that they may have died. I did like that Violet and Mike Teavee were basically freaks for the rest of their lives, but Veruca and Gloop were basically unharmed. Kind of dissapointing. Overall, very good....i guess the reason i liked it so much was because the original is one of my favorite movies, and this movie definatley did its justice.
